The Environmental Science Program, Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), continued its efforts to strengthen students’ competencies in environmental management through the Basic Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) Training Batch 3. The training was organized by the Center for Environmental Studies (PSLH) UGM in collaboration with the UGM Environmental Science Program and attended by 33 postgraduate students of Environmental Science at UGM. Held from 27–31 July 2026, the training was officially opened by Dr. Endang Astuti, M.Si. The program was conducted online, combining synchronous and asynchronous learning through a Learning Management System (LMS). read more

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through its team of experts, continues to support the Government of West Kutai Regency in the preparation of the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory (IGRK) document. The activity was carried out through technical collaboration with various local government agencies and relevant institutions in West Kutai Regency from July 27–30, 2026.

The collaboration began with a technical coordination meeting between the UGM Expert Team and the West Kutai Regency Environmental Agency (DLH) on July 27, 2026. The meeting aimed to agree on the scope of activities, data sources, and emission reduction targets to be incorporated into the West Kutai GHG Inventory document. This process also served as an important step in aligning methodologies, perceptions, and data validation between the academic team and the local government. read more

PARI, Japan – In response to the growing risk of coastal disasters driven by climate change, including erosion, storm surges, and sea-level rise, the Government of Indonesia, in collaboration with Japan, organized the Green–Grey Coastal Project Training Program from 22–28 July 2026. The program was conducted under the framework of the Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS), funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). The training was hosted at the Port and Airport Research Institute (PARI) and various coastal sites across Japan. read more

Guangxi, China – As part of its commitment to enhancing students’ competencies and expanding international academic collaboration, two doctoral students from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)—Puji Lestari from the Doctoral Program in Forestry and Probo Santoso from the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science—participated in the Eucalyptus Growing and Caring Techniques Training Program. The program was organized by Guangxi Eco-Engineering Vocational & Technical College (GEVTC) in collaboration with the China–Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance (CITIEA) in Guangxi, China, from May 11 to 25, 2026. Yogyakarta, 11 July 2026 – Following the successful implementation of the Basic Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA/AMDAL) Training Batch 1 in late June 2026, the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Environmental Science at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) continued their commitment to strengthening students’ professional competencies by facilitating Basic EIA Training Batch 2 (Batch 206), organized by the UGM Center for Environmental Studies (PSLH UGM). The six-day training program, held from 6 to 11 July 2026, was attended by 24 master’s and doctoral students from the Environmental Science Program through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous online learning.
