YOGYAKARTA, January 20, 2026 – The Master of Environmental Science (MIL) Study Program at the Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) officially received a field study and benchmarking visit from the Master of Environmental Science Program of Universitas Musi Rawas (UNIMUS). The meeting, held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the East Wing Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the UGM Graduate School Building, aimed to strengthen synergy between higher education institutions in managing environmental study programs.

The UNIMUS delegation was led directly by the Director of the Graduate School, Dr. Ir. John Bimasri, M.Si., accompanied by faculty members and ten students. They were warmly welcomed by the academic community of MIL UGM, represented by Dr. Sudaryatno, M.Si., Dr. Priyaji Agung Pambudi, S.Pd., M.Si., along with the academic management team. The meeting served as an interactive platform for discussing the development of higher education quality adaptive to modern challenges.

The main agenda of the visit focused on in-depth discussions regarding the implementation of the “Tridharma” of Higher Education, which includes Education, Research, and Community Service. Furthermore, both institutions discussed detailed strategies for accreditation enhancement, active participation in the Association of Environmental Science Study Programs (PEPSILI), and strategic steps toward the internationalization of study programs. This visit is expected to facilitate knowledge transfer in optimizing graduate competencies to achieve global competitiveness.

This collaborative activity is a tangible manifestation of support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through curriculum standardization and strengthening joint research, MIL UGM and UNIMUS are committed to producing excellent human resources capable of preserving ecosystems, in line with SDGs 13 and 15. The exchange of ideas ensures that higher education in Indonesia continues to evolve to address the complexities of future environmental challenges.
