YOGYAKARTA, January 12, 2026 — The Doctoral Program in Environmental Science (DIL) at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) hosted an academic visit from the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) for a knowledge-sharing session regarding ASIIN International Accreditation. This meeting served as a strategic platform for exchanging experiences and best practices to elevate higher education quality standards in the field of environmental science.

The event, held in Room B102, Building B, Faculty of Geography, UGM, was attended by the Head of the DIL UGM Program, Prof. Dr. Drs. Eko Haryono, M.Si., accompanied by Dr. Priyaji Agung Pambudi, S.Pd., M.Si., and Muhammad Ulyn Nuha, S.Pd. The DIL UNS delegation was represented by Dr. Cynthia Permata Sari.

The core agenda of the meeting involved an in-depth discussion on strategies and preparations for the ASIIN (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik) International Accreditation. ASIIN is a reputable German-based international accreditation agency specializing in quality assurance for degree programs in engineering, informatics, natural sciences, and mathematics.

During the session, the DIL UGM team provided a comprehensive breakdown of their accreditation journey, from the meticulous preparation of self-assessment documents to the technical execution of the field visitation. Having successfully completed the visitation process in 2025, DIL UGM is currently awaiting the final results from the agency. The discussion focused on critical aspects such as curriculum strengthening, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), effective study program governance, and the synchronization of internal quality assurance systems with global criteria.

This collaborative initiative serves as a tangible synergy between institutions to support SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By sharing these best practices, UGM reaffirms its commitment to strengthening inter-university collaboration, fostering high-quality doctoral education with global recognition.
