Yogyakarta, April 21, 2025 — The Doctoral Program in Environmental Science, Graduate School of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), continues to strengthen its international network by organizing the Internship Doctoral Program, a collaboration between the Graduate School, Faculty of Geography, and Guilin University of Technology. The program is designed to provide both academic and research experiences for students from both institutions. This initiative represents a strategic step toward expanding international collaboration, as well as promoting mutual exchange of knowledge and experience among global academic communities.

Today, five students from Guilin University arrived at UGM and participated in a campus tour at the Graduate School and Faculty of Geography. Tomorrow (April 22), they are scheduled to complete their non-degree international student registration. Among the five students, three are enrolled as non-degree participants under the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science, while the other two are joining the Internship Master Program at the Master of Geography Program. The internship will last for approximately three months.
Prior to their arrival, Dr. Chong-Jin Pang from Guilin University had guided the students in preparing their study and research plans as part of their program requirements. At UGM, the students will be supervised by Prof. Eko Haryono and actively involved in academic and research activities within the university environment.

Through this program, the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science aims to broaden educational and research collaborations at the international level as part of its commitment to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Additionally, the program supports other SDGs, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 15: Life on Land, by fostering meaningful academic exchange and joint research for global sustainability.
